Baxley Praises B.A.S.S. Founder Ray Scott
MONTGOMERY
–Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley praised B.A.S.S. founder, Ray Scott, in
a Senate Chamber ceremony held at the Alabama State House. Scott was
presented with a Resolution from the Texas House of Representatives
recognizing his outstanding conservation efforts in the State of Texas.
Representative Richard Raymond of the 42nd district in Laredo, Texas,
traveled to Montgomery to present the official resolution to Scott. It
highlights the Alabama native’s well-deserved reputation as a friend of
fishermen and hunters throughout Alabama and beyond. Scott has made
immense contributions in the areas of conservation, fishing and
whitetail deer hunting.
“Ray Scott
is truly deserving of this prestigious recognition,” said Baxley. “His
conservation efforts here in Alabama and around the world have played
such an important role in the sports of fishing and hunting,” Baxley
added.
Scott has
been the recipient of numerous awards over the years, including the
B.A.S.S. Outstanding Achievement Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award
of the Boating Hall of Fame, Pro Bass Fishing Hall of Fame, Horatio
Alger Award, Sport Fisherman of the Year, and the International Fishing
Hall of Fame Award. |
